There was so much going on with this book, I almost don’t know where to start, but at the same time I couldn’t put it down because it was like staring at a car wreck. You know you shouldn’t stare but you have to.
Ok where to start.
****My thoughts contains spoilers****
We’re introduced early on to the lead heroine of the book. Ava. Ava is an interior designer fresh out of a 4 year relationship. She’s requested to do work at ‘The Manor’ that’s owned by Jesse Ward. Upon meeting Jesse, she practically falls all over himself. He then takes it upon himself to basically stalk Ava. Not in a cute “oh fancy meeting you here” way. But in a way where if she was smart she should’ve obtained a restraining order against him, not to mention changing her phone number, and just for giggles, it wouldn’t have hurt for her to pack up all of her belongings and if not move out of her apartment, but to move out of the country. But for some reason, no one knows why she’s drawn to him. This dude is so insanely crazy he makes Christian Grey, and Gideon Cross looks like child play.
He’s constantly telling her to watch her mouth, yet it’s ok for him to cuss like a sailor. He’s even at the point where he’s telling her what to wear. He’s gotten so angry to the point where he put a dent in her wall. I don’t know about anyone else but i’m finding all of this to be extremely abusive. However, the main problem is AVA THINKS WITH HER VAGINA. What is up with books where the lead female only thinks with her vagina. Anyone normal person would say “hey you know what Ava, dude is friggin psycho, leave him be” but no, the best friend she does have, practically encourages all of it.
Just to boil this down, Ava is a twit. She’s an idiot, and too busy to realize this is the worst thing to happen to her. However, because the book was interesting, I do feel the need to see what the 2nd book conjures up
